“My brother and I both served in Vietnam. My brother was drafted in 1964. Most of his fellow soldiers voted for LBJ because he promised to keep us out of war. HIs unit was the 1st Air Calvary. They moved to Vietnam in ships and were one of the first major units to fight. He was stationed near Pleiku.
“I was drafted in 1969. I went to Pleiku in 1970. My unit (52nd ARTY) was pulling out of Cambodia when I got there. We were in the process of turning the war over to the Vietnamese. When I left in 1971 we were mostly support troops for them.
“I accused my brother of starting the fight and leaving it for me to finish.”
