Leon Douglas Davis grew up on Sunnybrook Road and graduated from Garner High in 1967. He was wounded while in Vietnam and had back pain from a piece of shrapnel that remained lodged in his back. He received a Purple Heart. He died of cardiac arrest on May 25, 2016.
