Vince Webb helped set up refueling stations for helicopters at FSB Suoi Da and FSB Katum before being transferred to Dau Tieng. He hauled fuel between Dau Tieng and Long Binh.
“We would start at 0300, drive by Tan Son Nhut airport, go by Cu Chi, then through the many rubber plantations to Tay Ninh. We would then head down “Ambush Alley” and more rubber plantations, then into Dau Tieng.
“Many nights after arrival I would pull guard duty. We would repeat the process of returning the next day, so we could reload our trailers for the following day’s trip.
I remember all the dust in the dry season and the monsoon rain in the wet season and how tired I was most of the time.”
